INVESTMENT ANALYST

ABOUT THE JOB

As an Investment Analyst, you will be an integral part of the Family Office Team, contributing directly to the growth and management of an assigned investment portfolio. This position is seeking a highly detail-oriented, meticulous and analytical individual proficient in investment reporting and analysis and is an ideal opportunity for someone with a penchant for streamlining and improving processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Investment Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive monthly investment reports that detail performance, market values, and transactions on both a segregated owner and consolidated basis.
  • Create and update detailed cash flow projections for various investment entities based on grounded assumptions from multiple asset classes.
  • Seek avenues and tools to improve and streamline the reporting process.
  • Monitor existing external managers and investments in the portfolio as part of the investment evaluation process.
  • Create and maintain internal investment intelligence reporting to support investment decision making.
  • Family Office Support:
  • Collaborate with internal team members including Tax, Accounting, and Legal in areas including tax estimates, accounting reconciliation, and compliance documentation.
  • Handle compliance document requests from existing external managers.
  • Organize investment documentation appropriately by obtaining performance and tax documents required by internal teams.
  • Investment Execution/Cash Management:
  • Coordinate timely execution of investment transactions including subscriptions, redemptions, and corporate actions.
  • Handle new and existing investment transaction documents.
  • Manage cash transactions in and out of the portfolio including automatic and manual cash sweeps from investment distributions.
  • Track and approve investment managers’ fees.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed, candidates must possess the following combination of education, experience and skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • CFA designation or progress towards the CFA designation is required
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Experience using tools in streamlining and simplifying reporting processes
  • Proven high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of a range of asset classes including public equity, fixed income, hedge funds, and private equity
  • Excellent investment reporting and organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and VBA
